JSC “TRANSAS Consulting” has signed an agreement on developing of SSP for 97 ships of the “ORION Shipping Company”. According to the general manager of JSC “TRANSAS Consulting” this will be the first SSP that are developed by a new method, which was worked out on the training-seminar on the 16-17 of August 2007 “Training of experts in charge of the development of ship security plans”, organized by the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport “Russian Maritime Security Service”
The major advantage of this plans are the use of improved methods of security assessment, ease of handling and use visual methods. The plan was supplemented with schemes of the restricted areas, with a patrol scheme and some new procedures (procedure of cancellation of SSAS false activation, procedure of assigning the increased security level on the ship). Also some other procedures were improved (Declaration of Security procedure, controlling of access to the ship, internal audit of the security system and so on). Also in the section “Information exchange/Communication” some new information was added, which helps to connect with Administrations of different navigation areas.
The introduction of this plans allows to improve the easiness of the handling, makes them easier for the crew and improves the security of the ships.
